Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.

These three athletes have been celebrated for their outstanding achievements over the past 12 months.

Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a historic innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his remarkable rise.

The shortlisted athletes were revealed during a live broadcast on a national radio breakfast show.

The champion will be announced during a live broadcast on the annual sports awards show on Thursday, 18 December.

The show will be broadcast from 19:00 GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

A mere three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She was introduced as a substitute to score crucial late equalisers in both the last eight and last four matches.

These match-saving moments led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Later in the year, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.

"To be named a finalist for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in spectacular fashion as - at just 17 years old - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

He didn't stop there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the very first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, smashing the previous record.

"Earning a spot on the shortlist for the honour once more is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a proud moment for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and burst into the spotlight with an remarkable and historic innings in August.

Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin finished second in the season's run tally and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm deeply humbled to be nominated for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it inspires more young women to get into cricket."
