Iran Claims Assault on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Widespread Military Operations.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed strikes across the region in response for a "massive" and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity near the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any destruction is uncertain and the United States has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on sites associated with the the regime, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the government.
Additional Developments
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military said it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," the statement continued.
It said debris fell on a populated district in the capital, resulting in some material damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
