Football Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions
Arsenal's ten-match winning streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global break, but can the English top division leaders bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated football expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."
The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus AI, fans and a variety of guests.
For week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
Murs' new album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.
Soccer and Family Life
Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."
Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.
"I won't push football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their weekend football team," he said.
"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a period too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Top Division Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this game will be quite close, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.
West Ham's only away win this season came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.
Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - can the Hammers extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season started, but they have impressed a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.
A family member told me to select Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.
The forward will probably score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had great success on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at home. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a threat.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.
They have got plenty of quality in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.
As for the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.
The away side's display in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice would be to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the end of October.
But I am not going to do that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.
Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
Olly's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
