Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, Known For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
American entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in popular programs including Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died aged 60.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles this Monday having undergone cancer treatment beginning in 2022, as reported by news outlets.
"He saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his family said in a statement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Notable TV Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he played the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, depicting a party host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on several well-known programs, like:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
His most famous role for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired many learners over the years and it would be difficult to find anyone who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted online.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
