Brian Eno Urges Public Help to Propel Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Festive Top Spot.

A campaign is aiming to send a traditional song from Palestine to the top of the UK charts. The effort seeks to deliver assistance to people in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Chance for Unity and an "Chart Upset"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a chance to stand with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be fantastic if that came to pass, yes,” he stated. “I wouldn't be completely disheartened if it fails to, festive releases are a thing unto themselves.”

Powerful Theme of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the version of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's defiant core message.

“It has a deeply meaningful spot for a lot of people,” Barghouti shared. “The essence is that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we desire to exist a life of dignity that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The song was recorded in the wake of a solidarity show held in the autumn. Originally intended to be performed and recorded live, the rendition was omitted from the lengthy event due to the event running long.

The impressive roster of performers featured on Lullaby includes a range of acclaimed names from the music world. All were part of the benefit event, which managed to collect a significant sum for humanitarian aid.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was produced by a group of music creators. The track blends a mix of the heritage language with contemporary English verses.

The organizers behind the campaign have stated that their goal is to generate maximum funds for a dedicated fund. These resources will be channeled to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an established charity.

“We haven't set a fixed goal,” a spokesperson said. “We’ll go for the maximum achievable. Obviously, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to Gaza.”

The situation in the territory was described as its profound destruction, with a overwhelming percentage of property reportedly in ruins or severely impacted.

“In that context, a few million doesn’t make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is primarily raising awareness for this issue and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”

The track is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the charity concert will be made accessible to view on a digital service from mid-December.
